BIOGRAPHY

Argentinian born guitarist Ramiro Olaciregui, based in Berlin,  has quickly established himself as an integral part of the European Jazz scene.

Olaciregui obtained his BA Degree from Berklee College of Music, Boston, in 2006. Afterwards he moved to New York City. Both, in Boston and New York, Ramiro collaborated with some of the strongest names in Jazz today, such as Jimmy Heath, Bob Mintzer, George Garzone, Seamus Blake, Chris Tordini, Tom Kennedy, & John Escreet. Here he also recorded his Debut Album "The Remains"

Ramiro resides in Berlin where he obtained his MA in Jazz Arrangement & Composition in 2022 from the Jazz Institute Berlin and is a strong member of the jazz community of this city.

For the past years Olaciregui has participated in numerous festivals around the world both as a sideman and leader, some include (IAJE) Festival - New York (USA), Mira Jazz Fest (AG), Ecuador Jazz Fest (EC), jazz a la calle (UY), jazzopen stuttgart (DE) and Regensburg jazzweekend (DE).

Ramiro leads several bands and projects, inlcuding his jazz fusion quintet TONIC (set to release their first Album in 2026), the World Citizen Band, and his ambitious large ensemble ROJO (Ramiro Olaciregui Jazz Orchestra).​

A Jazz Musician, but also lifelong fan of rock and metal, Ramiro also founded the prog rock band NAJALYST in Berlin, to reconnect with the music that first inspired him as a kid. During his time in South America, he previously released his first rock album with the band TRIVIAL, marking the beginning of this journey into songwriting and setting the stage for a more progressive musical approach.

In 2018 Ramiro co-founded the Humboldt Jazz Fest, a jazz festival which is held every year in Ecuador with the support of the Humboldt Association and the Goethe Institut, bringing internationally renowned  musicians to play and teach throughout different cities in Ecuador.  Olaciregui is the artistic director and organiser of this yearly cultural event.
